European Thoracic Society Oncology Assembly
Professor Najib Rahman (1994, Medicine), Supernumerary Fellow in Medicine, was elected as Lead for the European Thoracic Society Oncology Assembly from September 2024 for three years. Professor Rahman has also been appointed as National Lead for Respiratory Research at the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Research Delivery Network (RDN). His group has been awarded 拢2.8million as a grant to investigate the most efficacious treatment for patients with infected fluid in the chest cavity (pleural infection), to conduct the world鈥檚 largest randomised treatment trial in this area.
